About Us

2020 was a difficult year for all and it just so happened to be the year that I decided to take the plunge and follow my dream of setting up my own candle making business. Whilst working as a Primary school teacher, I completed an online candle making diploma and took part in several candle making workshops. Visiting Keyneston Mill, the beautiful gardens and home of Parterre fragrances was a real eye-opener too. Here I was able to learn how essential oils are extracted and distilled from botanicals, giving me an even greater appreciation of the wonder of the natural world.

I have always been a fan of fragrance in any form - whether it be choosing the right perfume, scented washing powder, or cleaning products. When it comes to perfume I’m all about fresh, citrus scents; when it comes to scenting my home however, my tastes are completely different and I am drawn to more warm, woody scents.

From a  young age, I was always very aware of smells around me and feel strongly that the importance of scent should not be underestimated. Scents can enhance or deter behaviours, evoke strong emotions and forgotten memories and the right scent can lift one’s spirits and create relaxing, uplifting or sensual moods depending upon the chosen fragrance.

In addition to appreciating nice scents, I have always loved burning candles. A flickering flame is calming and soothing and creates a warm ambience within the home or garden.

Whilst I began my candle making business focusing on sourcing  beautiful containers in which to create unique outdoor candles, I have also established a  'home' collection in addition, which encapsulates floral, fresh, woody and oriental notes within a select range of scented candles with seasonal variations, to fragrance the home. Since 2022 I have been hosting candle making parties and workshops in my purpose built studio.
